My speech yesterday at Gautier High School in Gautier, Mississippi was a very rewarding experience!

Yesterday was one of the most rewarding experiences of my speaking career.  Well… I’ve felt that feeling many times but it was a very rewarding experience.  I spoke to about 900 students at Gautier High School in Gautier, Mississippi.  The speech was in the gymnasium with students filling the bleachers on both sides of the gym.  Because they didn’t want students to know who the speaker was until I arrived, I wasn’t able to “feel” the room like I usually do.  So when I was introduced, it took me a while to become comfortable with the environment.  Once I got the hang of it, I got into a groove and really allowed myself speak from heart to hearts.  Usually, I know exactly what I’m going to say in a speech word for word.  But on this day, I could read the curiousity in the eyes of these kids and knew exactly where they wanted me to take the message.   I hope I did a good job.  Based on the response, I’m pretty sure I did.  I look forward to speaking to more high schools in Mississippi and across America.

Here’s local TV coverage of the speech.

Here are some photos from the event with some of the student leaders, faculty, and my son Greg Jr, who was assisting me with my equipment and logistics.
